General Labourer (Packaging/Industrial Butcher Helper)
Terms of Employment:
Permanent, full time or part time, overtime, day
Starting at $17.41/hour (up to $23.70/hour pending experience), 40hours/week, other benefits as per collective agreement, medical extended health benefits, dental benefits (orthodontics is available after 2 years of service), vision care benefits, disability benefits, life insurance benefits, RRSP contribution program available after one year of continuous full-time employment, two weeks vacation will be paid after one year of service at the rate of 4% of vacation pay.

You will be responsible for processing and packaging of various different pork products on a processing and production line. This includes but is not limited to assisting butchers, stunning, shackling, removing leaf lard (manually), washing carcasses, weighing carcasses, bagging, wrapping, boxing, operating packaging machines and equipment, including feeding skinning machine, and assisting meat cutters. You will transport raw materials, finished products and packaging materials throughout plant manually, or with powered equipment. You may measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines or mobile tanks. You will feed and unload meat products into processing machines, stock coolers and freezers and maintain inventories, clean work areas and equipment, check products and packaging for basic quality defects, assist butchers, meat cutters and shippers in performing their duties. Also, must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, think, and react quickly, and have the ability to work independently with little supervision.

Meat processing and packing plant, refrigerated production area/hot processing floor
English knowledge is required. Experience is an asset, but not required. Training will be provided. Food safety knowledge is an asset.
Process livestock and package products is an asset
