Terms of Employment:
Permanent, Full time, Overtime, Day

Starting at $15.00/hour (up to $21.13/hour pending experience), 40 hours/week, Other benefits, As per collective agreement, Medical Extended Health Benefits, Dental Benefits (including orthodontics), Vision Care Benefits, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance Benefits, RRSP contribution program available after one year of continuous full-time employment, Two weeks vacation will be paid after one year of service at the rate of 4% of vacation pay

Job Description:
You will be responsible for curing and smoking of various pork products for our value-add line. This includes but is not limited to selecting, skinning, proofing, brining, loading, boxing, operating curing machines and equipment. You will transport raw materials, finished products and packaging materials throughout plant manually, or with powered equipment. You will measure and dump ingredients into the pumper. You will feed and unload meat products into processing machines. You will stock coolers and maintain inventories. You will be trained to operate our smoke house. You will participate in our product development programs.

You will organize carts, and coolers to make product accessible for shippers, review inventory to ensure accuracy, work with the sales department to ensure correct inventory numbers, hang and smoke products as needed, and assist shippers in performing their duties. Also, you must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, think, and react quickly, and have the ability to work independently with little supervision.

Work Setting:
Meat processing and packing plant, Refrigerated production area.

Type of Equipment:
Skinner, smoker, pumper, knives

Required Skills:
English knowledge is required. Experience is an asset, but not required. Training will be provided. Food safety knowledge is an asset.

Specific Skills:
Curing experience and the ability to organize is an asset

Own Tools/Equipment:
Steel-toe safety boots

Looking for applicants who are eager, dependable, have positive attitude & are safety conscious in an excellent work environment, Knife skills an asset. Would be a great position for someone with kitchen/chef experience.
