Reports to: Sales Director

About the Role

Blue Lakes Premium Meats is seeking an experienced, results-driven Sales Representative with a background in meat sales to drive profitable revenue growth and expand our customer base across foodservice, retail, institutional, and wholesale channels.

This role requires disciplined selling, strong product knowledge, and the ability to align customer needs with production and inventory realities.

  • Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

  • Prospect and secure new customers across restaurants, institutions, retail, and wholesale segments
  • Convert leads into recurring buying accounts
    Develop volume programs, standing orders, and contract business

Account Management & Growth

  • Own assigned accounts and drive consistent order flow and volume growth
  • Optimize product mix to support margin performance
  • Conduct regular in-person customer visits
  • Proactively resolve issues to maintain long-term relationships

Strategic & Margin-Focused Selling

  • Maintain strong knowledge of meat products, cuts, and specifications
  • Sell strategically based on inventory position, cut availability, and profitability objectives
  • Stay informed on pricing guidelines and market trends

Order Execution & Coordination

  • Accurately capture order specifications and delivery requirements
  • Coordinate closely with operations and fulfillment teams
  • Proactively manage substitutions or shortages prior to delivery

Qualifications

  • Experience in meat sales or related industry
  • Foodservice, retail, or wholesale experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand margins, inventory realities, and customer needs
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly within assigned territory
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced office, customer-facing, and production environment
  • Regular in-person customer visits required
  • Travel within assigned territory
  • Occasional handling of product samples

Compensation

  • Base salary starting at $45,000, with progression based on performance
  • Commission structure based on collected sales
  • Earning potential increases as your customer base and sales volume grow
  • This is a performance-driven role

Strong performers have the opportunity to significantly increase their earnings over time.

We are also offering a $500 welcome bonus upon successful completion of the probationary period.
